Each year, Wendouree Ballarat RC recruits the best under 17 and under 19 rowers and coxes to try for selection into the Wendouree Ballarat Pathway Program. The program is targeted towards athletes and coxes who are not already representing their school at the Australian Rowing Championships (ARC) but have a desire to compete on the national stage.
Training begins after Head of the Lake for boys and girls. The training schedule will be accommodating to all girls also competing at the Head of the Schoolgirls Regatta.
Wendouree Ballarat RC will manage all logistics of the trip, supervision will be provided by Paul Blanchfield (Head Coach) and a female Team Manager. The approximate cost of the trip is $1500, all team members are encouraged to apply for athlete travel grants to help lessen the cost to families. The Australian Rowing Championships for 2021 are held in Tasmania at Lake Barrington.
